Saturday 9 November 14:30 - 17:30 Location: Follett Hall, URC, Dorking, RH4 1BS - see map
The Da Mo routine comprises fourteen specific Qigong exercises performed in sequence, with each exercise lasting for nine breaths. I lead the Da Mo workshop at seasonal transitions and twice during winter to strengthen the immune system and balance energy levels.
The 14 exercises are:
Lohan Stretching to the sky (stimulating the earth and heaven chi)
Calling the spirits (cleansing the aura)
Two globes mixing the chi (mixing earthly, cosmic, & human energy)
Monkey plays with the water (sinking chi to the finger tips)
White crane flaps its wings (expand the base chi)
Holding the ball of chi (stoking the fire ball of chi)
Playing with the ball of chi (stretch the ball of chi)
Swallow drinking from the lake (packing chi into the dan tian)
Twin Swallows drinking from the lake (packing chi into the dan tian)
Piercing the needle (focusing the chi to a point)
Reeling the silk (intensifying chi to a point)
Whirling of the hands in the silk (spreading the chi to the twelve meridians)
Monk sitting in horse stance (settling the chi)
Monk stimulating the brain and washing the dirt (stimulating the senses and cleansing the dirty chi)
During the workshop, you'll learn each exercise individually before we go through the full routine together at the end, which takes about half an hour. Practicing the routine in a group offers additional energy and immune-boosting benefits. This is a highly popular workshop, and spaces fill up quickly.
Price per workshop £50, Tai Chi students £40
